Attraction Chardonnay

I have been thinking about renaming our Chardonnay and Merlot to be more consistent with our Seduction design and overall romantic theme. My wife Barb has been somewhat resistant to this idea as she really likes our current Merlot and Chardonnay label design and generally doesn't like change.

But she finally agreed the other day to allow me to make the change. While she will undoubtedly change her mind back and forth another 10 times before the labels are printed, I am going to take this as gospel and run with it.

So the Chardonnay will be named Attraction and the Merlot will be named Romance of the Heart.

The fun part for me is to pick the font for the front label and then write some poetry for the back label that reflects the emotional feeling of the Attraction phase of a relationship.

So far I have 1 line of a poem boucing around in my head:

When our eyes met
My heart said hello

I want to reflect that initial feeling of just meeting someone and being instantly attracted to them - and hoping that they might be attracted to you. It is always a risk to put your feelings out on a limb, not knowing whether or not they will be reciprocated. But such is the excitement of love.

So the second line might be along the lines of:

Are you the one
I have longed for?

It is interesting to watch our children go through one of the most intense experiences of your life - falling in love for the first time.

The only more intense experience is falling in love with the right person after - at least for most of us - many attempts and near misses.

More to come...

Bart,

I love your insight. A poem by Robert Louis Stevenson reflects the feeling you have for your Romance wine line.

"I know not how it is with you --
I love the first and last,
The whole field of the present view,
The whole flow of the past.

One tittle of the things that are,
Nor you should change nor I --
One pebble in our path -- one star
In all our heaven of sky.

Our lives, and every day and hour,
One symphony appear:
One road, one garden -- every flower
And every bramble dear."
